NMLTA Mourns the Loss of Todd Russell

Dear Members,

I was deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Todd Russell over the weekend. The NMLTA would like to extend our condolences during this difficult time. Losing someone we care about is never easy, and can only imagine the pain and sorrow his family, friends and employees must be feeling.

For those that didn’t know Todd, he was co-owner of Land Titles of Ruidoso, also known as, The Title Company. He was a former Board Member, active on many committees throughout the years and an award recipient. In 2018, Todd was presented the Professional Excellence in Title and Escrow Award, an honor much deserved.

Below is a message from Land Titles of Ruidoso:

“It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we share the passing of our dear friend and colleague Todd Russell.
Todd was a man who thirsted for knowledge and made it his life quest to explore everything he could. His love of music and traveling, his drive to help others, and above all his undying hunger for knowledge, made Todd someone whom everyone wanted to know.

With more than 40 years in our industry, almost twenty-five years spent here in Lincoln County, Todd’s enthusiasm for title work was infectious, just a moment or two into talking with Todd about the work he adored had everyone wanting to learn more about our industry.

He was the lead examiner, and recent Co-owner of Land Titles of Ruidoso dba The Title Company, if ever you had a question about real estate in Lincoln County, Todd’s was always the first name mentioned.
We will miss Music Fridays, Soup Wednesdays, Todd’s World-Famous Cheesecake and how there was always a South Park episode that he could reference for anything happening in the office.

Todd never met a stranger and was a person to whom everyone felt “could always help” no matter the subject or situation. Currently service arrangements have not solidified and out of respect for his family, we ask everyone to respect their privacy. As soon as arrangements are established, we will send out an announcement with date, time, and location. We appreciate your condolences and understanding.”

With deepest sympathy,
