News Update - August 2025
On July 16, 2025, the first Quarterly meeting was held with the NMLTA and OSI. The Quarterly meetings are intended to improve collaboration and communication between our Association and the OSI Title Bureau, and to identify areas where our efforts can be focused to make things better for the Title Industry.
Our top priority will be to improve the current licensing exam experience for prospective Agents. There will be a review of the content areas contained in the exam, and we will work to ensure that these areas are updated to reflect the current trends and industry activity. Our Education committee will be working with OSI to create a comprehensive Study Guide, and to increase our inventory of on-demand video classes, written material, etc., that are available to prospective agents to help prepare for the exam.
Another initiative that we will continue with is the solicitation of responses to our Survey regarding the proposed Designated Professionals program... we are steadily reaching our target number of responses, and have received enough to have a Task Force begin to explore the qualifications and terms of such a program. One major shift in what has been previously presented is that the program will be open to both licensed and non-licensed company employees who meet the qualifications based on a point system. We continue to ask all Members to inform your staff as to this potential career benefit, and to please take our survey if they have not already done so.
The Education committee is also busy planning this year's Title School in October, so please stay tuned for more details on that to come out soon!
As always, if you ever have questions or suggestions, please contact Rob Grinage.
